The following is a list of the wonderful events and initiatives that the P.A. organise in the school every year:
Halloween Event: Every Halloween the children can dress up on the last day before the holidays. The P.A. set up the hall in a Halloween theme and run a disco, along with different Halloween themed stations (Colouring, games, Halloween food). Each class gets some time in the hall and they leave with some treats. This event is always a very popular one and every year the P.A. add new ideas to make sure the children have a great time.
Christmas Event: The P.A. transform the Old School into a Winter Wonderland with a Santa's Grotto and plenty of Christmas themed fun and games for all of the classes. Each class gets to spend some allocated time in the Winter Wonderland, and also get to meet the Big Man himself. Photos are usually taken on the day and sent home to the parents. The children always have great memories from this day in the school.
Grandparents Day: This event is when the grandparents get to see their grandchild in their school. Each class puts on a brief performance (songs, poems, dances) for their grandparents. We also hold a raffle on the day and there's some light refreshments also that morning. A great time had by all every year.
Easter Time: The Parents Association hold an Easter Raffle every year for each class. there's also a special appearance by the Easter Bunny on the last day of school before the holidays and she makes a trip to each of the classrooms to say hello
Book Rental Scheme: The P.A. have been running a very successful book rental scheme in the school for a number of years now. Many families take part in this every year. The team of parents ensure that the books given out are good quality and check the books throughout the year. The money saved for parents every year is worthwhile and we hope that this scheme will continue to run for years to come. Details of the book rental scheme for the 20/21school year are available on the following link: Book Rental Scheme 20/21
"Help us pave the way": Back in March 2018, the Parents Association created a fundraiser in support of the school buying land so that it could be possible to build on to our school, to facilitate the needs of the pupils in the school. "Help us pave the way", was established as it was felt it was most appropriate, as we needed to build onto the school. Anyone interested in supporting the school got the opportunity to buy a brick or a bench and their name or family name would be engraved, showcasing their support. The Go fund me page, "Help us pave the way" is still active, so anyone interested can still donate through that or through the school. Each brick costs €100, while benches are more expensive. Please contact the school if you wish to purchase. All of the names of the people who have sponsored a brick or bench will be displayed in the corridor of the additional accommodation, when complete in the school. Many thanks to everyone who supported the school in this fundraiser.
